Our service PopSlide was awarded the 1st place at the start-up competition at New Economy Summit 2015 (NES).
The NES is one of the biggest annual global conferences organized by the Japan Association of New Economy (JANE). The conference featured successful innovators from Japan and around the world to talk about how they sparked change through their disruptive business models and advancements in technology.
YOYO’s rewards application PopSlide was awarded as the best product in the competition (1st place).

The NES 2015 Start-up competition was held for the first time this year. 9 start-ups from all over Japan were invited to pitch in the event. Each presentation was limited to 6 minutes to speak about their businesses. Panel judges scored each presentation based on judging criteria to determine the winner. The panel of judges was made up of esteemed entrepreneurs like Masatoshi Kumagai of GMO Internet group, David Chao of DCM Ventures, Noriaki Keiichi Higuchi of Dentsu Inc. and other global innovators.
Aside from winning the prestigious award at the first-ever NES 2015 start-up competition, YOYO was awarded JPY 1 million, plus free airfare and accommodation for Tech in Asia Singapore 2015. YOYO also received a coupon for GMO’s cloud service ConoHa, and 1-year free use of GMO’s Payment Gateway.
The NES 2015 was held from April 7-8 2015 at Hotel New Otani Tokyo. Keynote speakers this year included Noble Prize in Physiology recipient Shinya Yamanaka, M.D., P.H.D, Larry Ellison of Oracle, and Drew Houston of Dropbox to name a few.
Other individuals like Andy Rubin, creator of Android, Niklas Zennstrom of Skype, and other global executives who shook the business world with their game-changing innovations have spoken at past NES conferences.
